Port Ellen Honors 200 Years with Special 42-Year-Old Anniversary Edition

The Port Ellen 200th Anniversary Edition, a 42-Year-Old single malt, is the distillery’s first limited bottling since reopening last year after four decades of silence. Distilled in 1983 and matured in European oak, just 150 bottles will be available worldwide this October (RRP £7,500).

Described by Master Blender Aimée Morrison as “a wonderful expression which embodies the essence of Port Ellen,” the whisky balances Port Ellen’s famed smoke with notes of berries, red apple skin, and caramelised brown sugar.

The 200th anniversary year also sees Port Ellen commissioning artworks and installations, including a new piece by celebrated designer Ini Archibong, and the unveiling of the oldest Port Ellen ever released, Port Ellen Prism, which will be auctioned through the One of One Auction in October.

The Port Ellen 200th Anniversary Edition will be available to purchase from October 2025, alongside a new commemorative 200th Anniversary tasting experience, both available via the private client team in Scotland www.diageorareandexceptional.com/ww/our-services/contact-us.
