My Tasting Notes 📓
Nose - Cinnamon, Apricot, Lime and Maple Syrup.
Palate - Plum, Vanilla, Marzipan Pineapple and Cocoa.
Finish - Lemon Cake, Mixed Berries, Toasted Oak and Sherry.
First, an intoxicating cinnamon sugar aroma gave heavenly opening smells to the once-forgotten Irish whiskey. Delicate apricots were then discovered, which provided a fruity fragrance moving forward. Then an uplifting and highly engaging citrus note added a inviting and balanced smell. Next, a maple aroma gave the cask-strength whiskey a sugary and strong maple wood-like smell.
On the palate, you're met with a perfect poached plum flavour. After some time, the overt and alluring flavours of vanilla spurred even more interest. Following that was an unforgettable marzipan note, which was much like a toasted almond flavour. Then, a succulent and fruity undertone came in waves, creating a very tropical influence. Furthermore, bitter cocoa was found.
The finish had a moderate viscosity given the alcohol percentage and was packed with outstanding flavour that you won't easily forget. More of the citrus from before reappears, but this time as an accompaniment to sponge cake. The fruit has persisted, and the abundance of mixed berries gives the impression of real rich dark fruit. Coconut and vanilla pod flavours were imparted by burnt wood in the shape of toasted oak. This one finished with a sour and acidic sherry flavour.
My opinion 💬 - This lively Irish whiskey leaves you feeling satisfied thanks to its huge, strong personality. It's a fresh spirit with lots of flavours that exhibits excellent clarity and personality. A thrilling flavour explosion has once again been produced by the cask selection.
